Nese has more than 40 years of E&P experience from companies such as Phillips Petroleum, Statoil and Wintershall. Nese's experience lies within petroleum engineering, asset management, E&P transactions including asset transfer of operatorship.

Prior to joining APC in 2016 Nese served as Asset Manager at Wintershall Norge AS where his achievements included a successful asset swap with Statoil (2012), which included the Brage, Gjøa, Vega and Edvard Grieg fields and also involved a successful transfer of operatorship from Statoil to Wintershall.

At Statoil Nese has had positions such as VP Sleipner asset area (1999-04), VP Asset value assurance (1999), VP Åsgard field (1995-98) and Senior VP E&PN project development (1990-1992).

Nese is also an author. His most recent book is on the Norwegian Industrial machine manufacturer Brøyt.
